Coldshaft's Tip on Understanding Mip Names

If you are thinking of creating custom textures for Quake1, then here are a few things about the mip names.

A texture that is in the format of *Something will be treated as a liquid. If it is called *lava7 then it will be treated as lava, and the same applies to slime. Anything else is treated as water, or a plain liquid. Anything in the format of +Something is an animated texture, ie buttons. I will have more on these later, once I learn more about them. Anything in the form of Something will just be a solid texture, appearing how it is in the mip file. I hope you found this useful for creating your own custom map textures in Quake1. Once again, questions and feed-back are to be sent to coldshaft@yahoo.com. I have tons more stuff in the ole' bag, so you can probably expect to see another tutorial from me sometime in the near future. Well, that wraps up this tutorial. Bye everyone.
